GNFS responds to diesel tanker accident at Asuboi
Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded to a road traffic accident on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Asuboi on the Accra-Kumasi Highway. The accident involved a DAF fuel tanker carrying 54,000 litres of diesel. The driver reportedly told authorities that the accident occurred after two middle tyres of the tanker burst, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
The Fire Service secured the scene and ensured safety measures were put in place to prevent any potential hazard from the diesel cargo. The tanker sustained partial damage, but no casualties were recorded. The GNFS later returned to base at about 2:51 pm after completing the operation.
