Ghana, Korea deepen tourism and cultural cooperation
Ghana and the Republic of Korea are strengthening cooperation in tourism, culture, and the creative arts under a five-year partnership backed by approximately US$4.5 million in financial and technical support. The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, disclosed this during an engagement with a visiting delegation from the Korean National Commission for UNESCO.
The partnership is expected to strengthen institutions, build professional capacity, and improve the management and preservation of Ghana's heritage sites. Ms. Gomashie noted that Ghana could draw lessons from Korea's discipline, punctuality, and work ethic, while Korea could benefit from Ghana's rich cultural heritage and creative traditions. The Korean delegation, led by Jinsung Jeon, thanked the Minister for the warm reception and reaffirmed its commitment to deepening the relationship between Ghana and South Korea.
