Unemployed man remanded for stealing trader's money
Abraham William Abudu Hakim was remanded into police custody for stealing at the Asankrangwa-Takoradi lorry station in the Western Region. The District Magistrate Court in Enchi made the decision. The amount stolen from a trader was GH¢20,000.
Hakim, an unemployed man, pleaded guilty simpliciter to the charge of stealing. The complainant, Genevieve Gyan, is a trader based in Asankrangwa. On May 4, 2026, around 9:30 am, Hakim went to the complainant's drinks shop and asked her to hire him as a Labourer. The complainant agreed and authorised him to arrange the drinks.
His Worship Lawrance Buanor-Bue deferred Hakim's sentence to May 14, 2026. Hakim later admitted the offence and handed GH¢13,200 to the police.
