Project coordinator and manager, Colonel Alex Twumasi, stated that the clearing and stripping of the right of way, which covers a width of 120 metres, is expected to be completed within 20 weeks. He added that more than half of the work has already been achieved within nine weeks, indicating the project is currently ahead of schedule.
Colonel Twumasi noted that the remaining 86.1 kilometres of the corridor are expected to be cleared within the next 13 weeks. He said, "The GAF Engineers have been tasked with executing one of the most important phases of the Accra-Kumasi Expressway project, which is the clearing and stripping of the right of way. This phase is intended to create the conditions for the commencement of the expressway." The corridor-clearing exercise remains a key preparatory stage ahead of full construction works.
