I never went to university - Tommy Annan-Forson
Tommy Annan-Forson revealed that he "never attended sixth form and university." He said his journey started in Adabraka. He was raised in a household shaped by two different worlds.
Annan-Forson said his father invested in his education. He attended Form 1 to Form 5 in secondary school. His father passed away during that time. He said that "everything sort of crumbled because he didn't leave us money." He said he "kind of lost all my friends because they had different paths and different places to go to." He worked in a coffee factory to get some money to help the house. He said, "That was how I paid my fees from Form 3 to Form 5 to make sure I wouldn't be a school dropper."
Annan-Forson joined City Paint Supply as a messenger and dispatch rider. He later moved on to work with an electrical company. He became part of a streetlight installation project in Accra. He said the pilot project was "between 37 and Trade Fair, along the Burma Camp Road." He added that he "wasn't an electrical engineer, but I handled the vehicle that lifted people up to install the lights."
