Council of State member Kwamigah-Atokple speaks after being declared wanted by EOCO
Gabriel T.K.A. Kwamigah-Atokple, Volta Regional representative on the Council of State, accused the leadership of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) of abuse of power, defying a court ruling, and causing reputational harm in a statement dated March 30, 2026. He maintains that the company complied fully, submitting documents and appearing before EOCO on December 3, 2025. He said the matter relates to a gold supply agreement covering June 2025 to June 2026, with 58 per cent of the contracted gold already delivered by November 2025. Kwamigah-Atokple cited a March 19, 2026, ruling by the High Court in Adentan, which he said found EOCO acted without lawful mandate, ordered the immediate defreezing of the company's accounts, and determined the case to be civil rather than criminal.
