Dr. Kokofu pledges historic homecoming conference to drive construction of NPP Ashanti office complex
Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu, former Bantama MP and Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Authority, expressed disappointment over the NPP's inability to construct a proper regional office despite years of contributions from party financiers and sympathisers. He stated, "We set up a committee to mobilise resources to build the Ashanti Regional office. I contributed my part. But till today, nothing has been done with the money we raised. The office has not been built." Dr. Kokofu is contesting the regional chairmanship of the NPP.
The Ashanti Region, regarded as a stronghold of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), lacks a befitting regional headquarters. A committee was previously inaugurated to mobilise funds for the construction of the regional office. Dr. Kokofu disclosed that his closest contender in the upcoming regional elections, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, served as chairman of this committee, with Kofi Nti as a member.
