Aowin MP donates to Samraboi flood victims amid calls for relocation to safer areas
Oscar Ofori Larbi, the Member of Parliament for the Aowin Constituency, visited victims of recent floods at Samraboi and parts of Enchi in the Western North Region, donating relief items to support displaced families. During his interaction, he donated essential items including 30 bags of rice, 10 boxes of mackerel, 100 mats, 300 bags of sachet water, and other relief supplies. He urged local authorities to identify safer and unflooded areas for possible relocation of residents to prevent future disasters, stating that "relocating affected communities to safer grounds remains the most sustainable solution to the recurring flooding challenges in the area."
The Chief of Samraboi-Nsuoakyire, Nana Sikayena Boafo, thanked the MP for the timely intervention and called for sustained support. The Aowin Municipal NADMO Director, Salifu Karim Ndego, advised displaced residents to maintain proper hygiene practices to prevent potential disease outbreaks, particularly cholera and malaria.
