Accra-Tema train derails after collision with cow
Accra-Tema train derailed on Thursday morning near Avenor. The derailment occurred after the train collided with two stray cattle that had wandered onto the railway tracks.

Alidu Shaibu said, "I have never seen anything like this before in my life," and added, "The driver really tried to save the situation. If he had not acted quickly, many people could have died today." Daniel Asiedu described the derailment as unfortunate and said, "Our train was running from Tema to Accra early this morning around 7:40 a.m. when we received a report that the train had hit a huge cow, causing the derailment."
Daniel Asiedu assured, "We are going to fix everything today. By this evening, the train should be able to run from here to Tema and back again." Investigations into the incident continued, and no individual had come forward by Thursday afternoon to claim ownership of the cattle.
