Use scarce resources prudently to sustain public institutions - Tourism Minister urges boards
Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, urged newly appointed governing board members of key tourism institutions to ensure the prudent management of Ghana's scarce resources on Tuesday in Accra. She made the call during the swearing-in of Ms. Phyllis Engmann, Chairperson of the Governing Board of Ghana Tourism Authority, and Torgbui Amenya Fiti V, a member of the Governing Board of the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. Madam Gomashie stated, "The survival or otherwise of these institutions depends to a large extent on you."
Madam Gomashie outlined the boards' responsibilities to include providing strategic leadership, strengthening institutional governance, fostering collaboration with stakeholders, and ensuring the effective management of resources. She also urged the appointees to uphold the values of integrity, professionalism, and dedication. Madam Gomashie congratulated the members on their appointments and commended them for accepting the responsibility to serve the nation. She also commended President John Dramani Mahama for the appointments.
