Newtown building collapse resulted in 3 confirmed dead and 20 rescued at the Accra New Town Experimental School. The remaining 20 survivors are currently receiving medical care at facilities including the Police Hospital, the 37 Military Hospital, Maamobi General Hospital, and a private health facility. Further details indicate that 15 of the victims are female, while 8 are male. Among the survivors are 7 minors. The Minister clarified that none of the deceased were minors. He commended emergency responders for their swift and coordinated response, describing their efforts as "commendable after working through the night to rescue victims and account for those affected."
