One Million Coders Programme admits 30,000 participants as nationwide training begins
One Million Coders Programme admitted 30,000 participants as nationwide training began on Monday, May 11. Fred Yeboah, Member of the Implementation Committee for the One Million Coders Programme, said that "As I speak to you right now, we have programme participants going to all these centres nationwide starting the programme today."
Mr. Yeboah stated that the programme has received about 119,896 applications and registrations. He confirmed that the application portal remains open and admissions will continue on a rolling basis. He explained that this arrangement will allow new participants to be admitted as earlier cohorts complete their training, because "As soon as you complete your course, your spot is freed for another person to jump into the course and then continue."
Mr. Yeboah noted that the programme is targeting a larger intake for the year, stating, "For this year, our target is 300,000. So we have started the process of training 300,000 for 2026." He added that the programme will be expanded through additional training centers and universities across the country, as "New centres will be coming on board. We are enrolling additional universities, and they are coming on board. We are still bringing on other centres within the district level."
