AIMS Ghana graduates record 130 students from 24 African countries at 14th graduation ceremony
The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) Ghana graduated a record 130 students at its 14th graduation ceremony, held on Friday, June 27, 2026, at the Cedi Conference Centre at the University of Ghana, Legon. The ceremony was themed "Celebrating 14 Years of Transforming Africa Through Science, Innovation and Education." Centre President Dr. Prince Osei stated, "Today, we celebrate a significant and record-breaking graduation of 130 students."
Of the 130 graduates, 30% are female. 49 students completed the regular MSc Mathematical Sciences programme, drawn from 19 African countries, with 35% female representation. The remaining 81 graduates are from the Master of Mathematical Sciences for Teachers programme, spanning 13 African countries, with 53% being Ghanaian and 27% female. Dr. Osei noted that demand for AIMS Ghana's programmes has surged, with over 2,000 applications received this year for the teachers' programme and close to 1,000 for the regular master's. The guest speaker was Dr. Koketro Andamboekwe, an alumna from AIMS Ghana's first graduating batch.
