Wenchi District Court remands four suspect for alleged robbery
The Wenchi District Court remanded four suspects into police custody in the Bono Region, in connection with alleged robbery. The court, presided over by Mr Issah Abdul Wahab, charged suspects Yakubu Abuu, 25, Ibrahim Ahmed, 25, Ibrahim Abdallah, 36 and Abass Saliki, 35 for robbery, assault, causing harm and conspiracy to commit crime, when they appeared before it on Monday, May 11, 2026.
The Nsawkaw District Police Command arrested the four suspects at Brohani, near Nsawkaw, in the Tain District of the region. On May 8, 2026 around 08:50 hours, Michael Kelly Kemever, 42, a businessman at Hani, made a complaint to the police with visible marks of assault, a deep cut on the waist and the right shoulder. He reported that on May 7, 2026 around 20:45 hours, he and his apprentice were attacked while travelling with a motorcycle from Brohani to Hani, with a bag containing cash of GH₵200,000. Abuu was arrested on May 8, 2026 around 16:30 hours and confessed to the crime, mentioning other accomplices. The police retrieved GH₵120,000 concealed in a black polythene bag from the room of Abdallah.
The four suspects would reappear by June 9, 2026. Two other suspects are presently at large, and investigations are underway to arrest them.
