Chiefs call on government to improve infrastructure at Gyedu Technical Institute
Chiefs of Gyedu called on the government to address infrastructural deficiencies at the Gyedu Technical Institute. Nsiah Acheampong, Secretary of the Sustainable Development Committee (SDC), speaking on behalf of the chiefs, explained that the school, established by the community in 2010, has not received any government support.
According to Acheampong, the school lacks essential resources, including an official vehicle and a bus. He also noted that several ongoing projects at the school are being financed by the community. Seth Asare Bediako, Director of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for the Ahafo Region, told Adom News that TVET schools in the region are facing urgent infrastructure and logistical challenges. Bediako observed that the resources required to support effective teaching and learning remain inadequate. Bediako urged individuals, companies, and other stakeholders to assist the government in addressing these challenges.
Bediako commended the Member of Parliament for Asutifi North, Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, the Asutifi North District Chief Executive, Hafiz Dauda, and the Ahafo Regional Minister, Charity Gardiner, for their efforts in supporting initiatives to improve teaching and learning at the school.
