70 Jomoro artisans to receive NAP support package from MP Dorcas Affo-Toffey
Dorcas Affo-Toffey will provide support to 70 artisans under the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) on Monday, May 25, 2026, at Half Assini. The artisans are drawn from the entire Jomoro Municipality and include dressmakers, seamstresses/tailors, hairdressers, and barbers.
Twenty-five hairdressers who have finished their NAP, and those still learning but able to work, will each receive a hairdryer. Twenty barbers will each receive hair clippers, and 25 dressmakers and seamstresses will each receive a sewing machine. According to Madam Affo-Toffey, who is also the deputy transport minister, "some of these apprentices can even work and make money while under the NAP, so they need such support to be themselves."
Madam Affo-Toffey explained that this initiative is self-funded and meant to support her constituents and "to fulfil the promise of supporting whoever is willing to do something for themselves." She added that this is to support the government's efforts in ensuring that most Ghanaians become self-sufficient and not rely on the central government, as "the government alone cannot provide all that the people need, so such initiatives will help them be on their own."
