Three killed, others injured in accident on Kyebi-Asikam road
Three people died in a fatal road crash involving a Toyota RAV4 and a Kia Picanto on the Kyebi-Asikam road in the Eastern Region on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. The Kibi Fire Station responded to the scene at about 3:30 p.m., where three occupants of the Kia Picanto were pronounced dead.
Two male occupants of the vehicles sustained injuries and were transported to the Kibi Government Hospital. The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) explained that a six-member team found the Toyota RAV4, with registration number CR 657-21, badly damaged at the front, and the Kia Picanto, registered GC 2066-19, overturned in a pit. Preliminary investigations by the GNFS indicate the Toyota RAV4 lost control, crossed into the opposite lane, and crashed head-on into the Kia Picanto.
