3 Ghanaians win prestigious award for 'Best Responsible AI Implementation' in the world
Human In The Loop, founded by three entrepreneurs from Ghana, won the People's Voice Webby Award for Best Responsible AI Implementation at the 30th Annual Webby Awards. They joined tech companies including Apple, Google, Netflix, Anthropic, Waymo, and Adobe in the winners' circle. Nick Borenstein, General Manager of The Webby Awards, said "Human In The Loop isn't just shaping the Internet - they're redefining it. This honour celebrates the fearless creativity and sharp execution that make their work an unmistakable force online."
Over 940,000 people from around the world cast votes in this year's Webby Awards. More than 4.6 million votes were recorded across 13,000+ entries from 70 countries. The platform provides organisations with tools to maintain human oversight of AI systems. Healthcare Providers, Financial institutions, Government agencies, and Tech companies use the platform.
The team consists of Kwaw Fletcher Frimpong, the team lead and an AI security and governance specialist; Dominic Damoah, a tech entrepreneur and AI engineer; and Philemon Hini, an AI engineer and digital forensics leader. The Webby Awards have been recognising excellence online since 1996. The 2026 Webby Awards ceremony was held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, and hosted by comedian and creator Josh Johnson.
