Woman arrested after disguising herself as 'ghost' to allegedly steal late friend's clothes
Nana Akua, known on TikTok as "Mama Gee" or "Akua Sikapa", was arrested on Saturday evening in Agric, Kwadaso Municipality, Ashanti Region, for allegedly breaking into her late friend's room while dressed as a "ghost." She was allegedly seen removing clothes from the deceased's wardrobe. Nana Akua claimed her late friend's spirit had been disturbing her at night, and a fetish priest advised her that the only way to stop the alleged hauntings was to take the deceased's clothes for a ritual.
Neighbors noticed movement in the room of Mrs. Osei Bonsu, who passed away a few weeks ago. Upon entering, they reportedly found Nana Akua, believed to be in her 30s and a close friend of the deceased, dressed in a white cloth covering her head and body. Eyewitnesses stated that Nana Akua and the late Mrs. Osei Bonsu were members of the same group, with the deceased serving as leader and Nana Akua as her assistant. Residents rejected her explanation, raised an alarm, and gathered at the scene. An eyewitness, Matilda, stated, "When we did that, we realised it was not a ghost because a ghost's image can't be captured. We then started shouting 'thief, thief,' and the youth around moved in and caught her."
