We spoke to the man making viral Lego-style AI videos for Iran. Experts say it's powerful propaganda

Mr. Explosive, a representative of Explosive Media, spoke to the BBC podcast, Top Comment, and admitted the Iranian regime is a "customer". He had previously denied working for the Iranian government. He said his team at Explosive Media consists of fewer than ten people who use Lego-style graphics "because it is a world language".

The videos feature dying children, fighter jets, and US President Donald Trump, and are pro-Iran propaganda. The videos' message is that Iran is resisting what it sees as an oppressor: the United States. In one video, Donald Trump falls through a whirlwind of "Epstein file" documents. In another, George Floyd is seen under a policeman's boot. Dr. Emma Briant says "Slopaganda" is too weak a term to capture how powerful this content is. AI-generated propaganda clips are estimated to have been viewed hundreds of millions of times over the course of the war. Iranian and Russian state media accounts on X regularly share them to millions of followers.

Mr. Explosive says the "Epstein files" feature heavily to show the audience the "kind of confrontation they are witnessing" between Iran - which is "seeking truth and freedom" - against "those who associate themselves with cannibals". He does not accept that a downed US airman was rescued by US special forces on April 4, claiming: "Possibly there was no lost pilot, there was no rescue operation.
