Two killed, several injured in accident on Fodoa-Nadeso road
Two people died, while several others sustained injuries, in a road accident on the Fodoa-Nadeso stretch of the Kumasi Highway in the Kwahu South District of the Eastern Region in the early hours of Thursday, July 16, 2026. A cargo vehicle collided with a long truck loaded with bottled water. The cargo vehicle, with registration number WR 644-N, reportedly developed a mechanical fault, resulting in the collision.
The impact claimed the lives of two occupants on the spot. Other victims sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to the Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw for emergency treatment. Emergency personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service and other security agencies responded to rescue trapped victims and clear the road. Divisional Officer Grade Two (DO II) Samuel Mante, the Nkawkaw Municipal Fire Commander, urged drivers to strictly observe road safety measures, particularly when vehicles develop faults on highways. He advised motorists to immediately place warning triangles at appropriate distances to alert approaching drivers and prevent avoidable accidents. The Police have commenced investigations into the cause of the crash.
