Three more arrested over murder of Indian national as Police recover iPhone buried in bush
The Ghana Police Service arrested three additional suspects between April 29-30, 2026, in Kumasi, in connection with the murder of Sain Devendra Kumar. The arrests bring the total number of persons in custody for the murder to four. The newly arrested suspects are Osman Moro alias Thiago, aged 20; Akum Kojo Junior; Moro Sule alias Moro Aboboyaa; and John Adoko alias Carter.
Akum Kojo Junior admitted to the murder and disclosed that on April 24, 2026, he disconnected and replaced the closed-circuit television camera server at the deceased's workplace with the assistance of Moro Sule. Akum Kojo Junior led police to Daban New Site in Kumasi, where the CCTV server was retrieved. He also disclosed taking possession of the deceased's iPhone 17 Pro Max and Tecno mobile phones, giving the iPhone to Osman Moro and the Tecno phone to Moro Sule. Police recovered the iPhone 17 Pro Max from a bush in Kaase, and the Tecno mobile phone from Moro Sule in Aprabong near Dompoase. John Adoko admitted to driving the deceased's vehicle to where it was abandoned. The recovered exhibits, including the CCTV server, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the Tecno mobile phone, have been retained for evidential purposes. The murder of the Indian national has raised concerns among the foreign business community in the Ashanti Region.
Police are actively working to arrest two other suspects: Zuzu Adrama, described as the killer, and Vipul Jetpur Vijay, known as Taruu. All suspects are currently in police custody.
