Samuel Atta Akyea, lead counsel for Dennis Miracles Aboagye, criticized the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) over delays in his client's case, speaking on Adom FM's Dwaso Nsem morning show. He stated, "When I was allowed to enter EOCO, it was around 10:56 in the morning. We were there until late, and it is very bad." He described the process at EOCO as unprofessional and disrespectful of people's time.
The main issue discussed during the engagement was an alleged GH¢55 million procurement matter, and Mr. Aboagye provided information he had on the issue. Mr. Aboagye, a former aide to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, was arrested by EOCO upon his arrival at the Kotoka International Airport. EOCO stated the arrest is linked to investigations into alleged financial and procurement-related irregularities involving about GH¢55 million during Mr. Aboagye's tenure as Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD).
