Suspect arrested over killing of elderly woman in Kadjebi
Chalim Madzaton, also known as Peter Tano, was arrested following what authorities describe as a sustained, intelligence-led operation. The arrest of the 36-year-old farmer occurred at a hideout in Kpaya, a suburb of Ahamansu. The arrest is linked to the death of Dakolor Semaka.
The incident was reported on March 24, 2026, after the suspect allegedly attacked his girlfriend, 55-year-old Yaa Tugbenyo, and her mother at their home in Mangoase, near Kadjebi. Ms. Tugbenyo managed to escape, but upon returning to the house, she discovered her mother lying motionless on the floor. A medical officer at St. Mary Theresa Hospital confirmed the death of Dakolor Semaka. The body has since been placed in the hospital's morgue for preservation pending a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
