Sewua Hospital to be commissioned during Mahama's next visit to Kumasi - Health Minister tells Otumfuo

Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Minister of Health, assured Otumfuo Osei Tutu II that the Sewua Regional Hospital in the Ashanti region will soon be operationalized. He gave this assurance during a courtesy call at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi. Mr. Akandoh stated, "When we come again with President Mahama, we will be commissioning it."

Mr. Akandoh briefed Otumfuo on developments in the health sector, noting significant progress on critical infrastructure around the facility, including the road network, energy, and water supply. The Sewua Hospital, located in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region, is expected to expand access to quality healthcare for residents in Kumasi and surrounding districts. Otumfuo Osei Tutu II emphasized that politics is about good governance and commended the minister for the detailed briefing. Mr. Akandoh was accompanied by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Samuel Akoriyea Kaba, Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, and other officials.
