Sefwi Sayerano chief demands answers over deadly police shooting
Nana Kwasi Sampa, the Twafohene of Sefwi Sayerano, is demanding answers over a police shooting incident that claimed two lives and left three others injured in the community. Speaking on Adom FM's Dwaso Nsem morning show, Nana Kwasi Sampa stated, "I heard several gunshots, and when I came out, I saw that the police were firing shots. I was told to hurry because people had been killed outside." He found two people dead upon arrival, with three injured individuals already taken to the hospital.
The incident caused tension among residents, with angry youth gathering in the town. Community leaders reported the matter to the Divisional Police Command around 4:00 pm. Nana Kwasi Sampa confirmed that all victims were residents of Sefwi Sayerano. The shooting occurred at Asempaneye Forest near Sefwi Sayerano in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region, following a confrontation between residents and a police patrol team during an operation to arrest a suspect.
