Ramadan Cup: Bawumia extends support as 11th edition kicks off today
Mahamudu Bawumia has supported the organisation of the annual Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan Cup. Organisers commended Dr. Bawumia for his "consistent support" towards the successful organisation of the tournament. The 11th edition of the competition kicks off today, March 23, at the Madina AstroTurf. 16 Zongo communities are participating in the tournament. Over the past 10 years, Dr. Bawumia has been a committed supporter of the annual event and has also hosted some of the winning communities. In 2024, he rewarded the winners, Ashaiman, with GHC 20,000, and also facilitated the construction of an astro turf for Ashaiman.
Nsawam Zongo and Sabon Zongo from Accra, are scheduled to open the 2026 edition at 9:00am today. The grand finale is expected to be played later in the evening.
