Police brutally assaulted me for no reason during demo - Techiman-Krobo Nursing student
A student of the Techiman-Krobo Nursing and Midwifery Training College alleged she sustained a blood clot in her eye after being assaulted by police during a demonstration over poor school conditions. Speaking on Adom FM's Dwaso Nsem, the student claimed the protest was peaceful and that demonstrators posed no threat before police allegedly attacked them, stating, "It was a peaceful and harmless demonstration. We were not armed; we were not even holding a cane." She further alleged that after the school's Dean engaged officers in a discussion inside a police vehicle, "the police started fighting against us. We were brutally assaulted."
The student claimed she was personally beaten and kicked by the police, and her head landed in a big gutter, resulting in a blood clot in her eye. She maintained that students neither provoked the police nor engaged in violence, stating, "We did nothing. We didn't insult anyone or pelt stones. We were not violent at any point, and we didn't cause any chaos. They just arrested and harassed some of us." The student also criticized the school's management for allegedly failing to address the incident or support affected students.
