Police arrested three suspects in connection with a shooting incident on March 18, 2026, at Keri in the Oti Region. The incident occurred at about 2:00 p.m. when unknown gunmen reportedly opened fire on residents at their home. Gasalege Kumi Salisa, age 82, and his 42-year-old son, Amoah Gasalege Amoah, were injured.
The victims were rushed to the Nkwanta Municipal Hospital for treatment. A joint security operation involving the military led to the deployment of a drone, which identified individuals hiding in the area. The arrested suspects were later handed over to the police by a military team led by an officer from the 66 Artillery Regiment in Ho. The suspects have been identified as Bomie Dennis, 22; Charity Salisa, 25, who is seven months pregnant; and Kakotse Victoria, 22. A search conducted at suspected hideouts led to the retrieval of several items, including four locally manufactured single-barrel guns, assorted cartridges, mobile phones, ECOWAS identity cards, and other materials believed to be linked to the crime.
