Plastic sellers give GNFS 3-day ultimatum to submit report on Odawna market fire
The Plastic Sellers Association at the Odawna Rubber Market has given the Ghana National Fire Service a three-day ultimatum to submit its investigation report on the recent fire outbreak that devastated the market. Ohene Nketiah, Vice Chairman of the Association, stated, "We are ready to resume business, but we will give the Fire Service some time to investigate and submit a report on what caused the fire."
Mr. Nketiah also mentioned that members had begun clearing debris and preparing to reconstruct their containers when the Fire Service asked them to halt the process until the report is ready. The fire at the Odawna Rubber Market caused significant damage to several stalls and goods, leading to heavy losses for many traders and disrupting business activities for days. Traders are hopeful that once the report is submitted, they will be allowed to resume operations as soon as possible.
