Over 300 mothers benefit from Mother's Day outreach by Luv Fm and Nhyira FM at Ayigya
Luv FM and Nhyira FM organised a Mother's Day outreach that benefited over 300 mothers on Saturday, May 9, and Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Ayigya in Kumasi. The two-day programme, held at the Living Waters Assemblies of God Church premises, featured free breast cancer and eye screening, feeding, giveaways and empowerment sessions. Before the main event, a week-long panel discussion was held from Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 8, at the studios of Luv FM.
The discussions were hosted by David Akuetteh and brought together resource persons to educate and inspire listeners on issues affecting women, families and society. Dr. Mrs. Georgina Adu Gyamfi spoke on balancing faith, family and personal wellbeing, while Mrs. Juliet Dbedema discussed sexual abuse prevention among children and the youth. Mrs. Linda Asare Bediako and Mrs. Esi Brown educated listeners on enterprise development. Discussions on women and personal development were led by Dr. Mrs. Yaa Asantewaa Osei and Prof. Mrs. Linda Batsa Debrah, while Mrs. Joyce Owusu-Dabo spoke on personality profiling of a prominent woman in the church. The screening, which started at 9:00 am and ended at 12:00 pm, was undertaken by Peace and Love Hospital and Enhance Vision Optical. Eric Inkoom said the organisation decided to expand its annual Mother's Day activities to impact more lives within the community, stating, "We at Multimedia feel mothers have done a lot. We can't feed all of them but it was a target to feed over 300 and that was achieved. The mothers that came through were so excited."
