Our deeds and sacrifices speak after we are gone - Sheikh Aremeyaw at helicopter crash memorial

Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, called on Ghanaians to reflect deeply on the purpose of life, the certainty of death, and the importance of leaving behind enduring legacies of service, as the nation marked the first anniversary of a tragic military helicopter crash. Speaking during the National Inter-Faith Memorial Service held in Accra on Thursday, August 6, Sheikh Shaibu stated, "We meet this morning in the stillness, silence and the momentous nature of this occasion to remember those whom we lost through a plane crash exactly a year ago."

The memorial honored eight prominent Ghanaians whose lives were cut short in the air crash while undertaking official national duties. Their sudden deaths plunged the nation into mourning, prompting an outpouring of grief from citizens and tributes from the international community.
