Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II to grace Gomoa Easter Carnival
Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II, Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area, will attend the inaugural Gomoa Easter Carnival scheduled for April 2 to April 6, 2026, in various Gomoa communities in the Central Region. His attendance is considered significant in highlighting the culture of the Fante people during the festival. Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II is also President of the Oguaa Traditional Council.
The four-day Gomoa Easter Carnival, an initiative by Kwame Asare Obeng, the Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, will feature musical performances from artists including Samini, Kwabena Kwabena, Sarkodie, Kofi Kinaata, Shatta Wale, and Kuami Eugene. Other activities include a barbecue and bonfire session at the Crown Forest Hotel, painting, an art exhibition, a food bazaar, masquerades, and a grand durbar.
According to Kwame Asare Obeng (also known as A Plus), the festival will begin with a welcome night on April 2 at the Crown Forest Hotel. April 3 will feature an official opening ceremony at Elwamkrom Jukwa, followed by a classic highlife session at the Ekwamkrom Community Park. The grand durbar of chiefs will include traditional drumming and dancing, and jama groups from Conti, Vandals, and Kantangees. The event is sponsored by Hotwav in partnership with Multimedia Group Limited.
