Odumasi Health Centre appeals for standby power plant to safeguard healthcare delivery
Odumasi Health Centre appealed to the government, stakeholders, and the general public to support the facility with a standby power plant to prevent disruptions in critical healthcare services. The appeal was made during a donation exercise by philanthropist Christopher Asamoah, who presented a washing machine and other medical items to the facility to enhance sanitation and service delivery.
Senior Physician Assistant, Jabiuk Jabgben Francis, speaking to Adom News correspondent Isaac K. Normanyo, indicated that the facility had for years relied on manual laundry processes, raising concerns about infection control and the safety of both patients and staff. Mr. Francis noted that although the donation of the washing machine would significantly improve hygiene standards, the absence of a reliable power supply remains a major challenge. Christopher Asamoah said he was motivated by a personal commitment to support the development of his hometown. He disclosed that his previous contributions to the facility included hospital beds, bed sheets and other essential items, some of which were made possible through collaboration with Adansi residents in the United Kingdom. The Regent of Adansi Odumasi, Nana Kwantepinaa Kwamoa Bosompim, commended the philanthropist for his continuous support and called on other members of the community to contribute towards the development of the health centre.
The management of the health centre remains hopeful that the appeal for a standby power plant will receive the needed attention to safeguard lives and improve healthcare delivery in the municipality.
