NPP's 'Democracy Under Attack' demonstration comes off today

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, spokesperson for former Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and NPP communications team member, stated in a Facebook post that the protest aims to resist attempts to suppress dissent and undermine democratic values. Mr. Aboagye alleged that issues such as "rampant arrests of opposition voices," the detention of some individuals over alleged insults, the arrest of TikTok users and media practitioners, the use of bail conditions, and concerns about the relationship between the Executive and the Judiciary pose a threat to Ghana's democracy. He called for equal application of the law and urged authorities to avoid what he termed selective justice.
