NPP inaugurates National Elections Committee
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) inaugurated its National Elections Committee to oversee processes leading to the party's National Conference for the election of national officers. The committee was inaugurated by Acting National Chairman Smith Dankwa Butey, who tasked members to execute their mandate with integrity, impartiality, and professionalism in line with the party's constitution and applicable regulations. The committee is chaired by former Suhum Member of Parliament Frederick Opare-Ansah, with Atiwa East MP Abena Osei Asare serving as Vice Chairperson and Evans Nimako as Secretary.
Other members include Madam Oboshie Sai Cofie, Anthony Abayifa Karbo, Salam Ama Appianin Damata, Eric Ntori (the Ashanti Regional Chairman who will assume office after the conclusion of the Ashanti Regional Elections), and Mr Frank Davies, Esq. The committee's mandate includes planning, organizing, and supervising all processes leading to the National Conference, as well as conducting the elections in accordance with the NPP's constitution and relevant regulations. Mr Opare-Ansah stated, "We recognise the enormous responsibility entrusted to us. We are determined to ensure that every stage of the process is conducted with fairness, transparency, integrity and strict adherence to the Constitution and the rules governing the elections."
