Nanapa chief appeals for improved social amenities to boost community development
Baffour Aquaye, the Adikro of Nanapa, appealed to the government and other stakeholders during the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a five-bedroom teachers' bungalow to address the lack of basic social amenities in the farming community. He stated that the absence of good roads, potable water, adequate classroom infrastructure, and other essential facilities continues to affect the livelihoods of residents and hinder the community's development.
Baffour Aquaye described the state of the community as worrying, noting that poor road networks make it difficult for farmers to transport their produce to market, resulting in financial losses. He also expressed concern about the poor condition of educational facilities, stating many pupils are forced to study in dilapidated classrooms with inadequate furniture. Philanthropist Thomas Larbi is financing the construction of the teachers' bungalow and stated that improving accommodation for teachers is key to attracting and retaining qualified personnel in the community.
