NADMO provides relief items to flood victims in Samraboi-Nsuoakyire
The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) donated relief items to residents of Samraboi-Nsuoakyire in the Aowin Municipality of the Western North Region who were displaced by recent flooding. The support includes an air-conditioned camp tent and mattresses to provide temporary shelter for families whose homes were destroyed. Esther Oppong, the Western North Regional Director of NADMO, stated that the donation forms part of the organisation's efforts to provide immediate relief to victims while longer-term recovery measures are pursued.
Samraboi-Nsuoakyire was among the worst-affected communities, with several families still struggling to recover. Stephen Ntow Morcher, the Municipal Chief Executive for Aowin, expressed gratitude to NADMO for the timely intervention, describing the support as a major relief for affected families. He appealed to beneficiaries to take proper care of the facilities. The intervention comes weeks after heavy rains triggered widespread flooding, leaving many residents homeless and causing extensive damage to property and livelihoods.
