NADeF begins major infrastructure projects at Adrobaa Technical Institute to improve learning
Newmont Ahafo Development Foundation (NADeF) has intensified efforts to improve infrastructure at the Adrobaa Technical Institute in the Ahafo Region to strengthen teaching and learning. The projects form part of the foundation's commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and improving conditions for students and staff in mining communities.
Nana Addo Boamah, the Kyidomhene of Adrobaa, commended the foundation for undertaking key projects at the school, stating that "the state of the school is very poor and an eyesore, so for the foundation to begin the construction of a two-storey dormitory block, the renovation of a four-unit classroom block, and the construction of a six-seater lavatory is a good step for the school." Agnes Anaa, a provision shop owner, praised NADeF for positively impacting her livelihood and helping her expand her business and improve her living conditions. She appealed to the foundation to intensify its support programmes to help address unemployment among the youth in the community.
Nana Addo Boamah expressed optimism that the projects would significantly improve teaching and learning once completed and handed over to school authorities. He added that the chiefs and people of the area hold the school in high regard and regularly visit project sites to ensure contractors deliver quality work.
