MOMO loan defaulters can't escape - MTN Ghana
Dickson Amoung-Yam, MTN Ghana's Field Service Manager (Network) in Kumasi, urged customers of Mobile Money (MOMO) to repay their loans during a media and stakeholders' engagement organized by MTN Ghana in Sunyani. He stated that "Borrowers who take loans and refuse to pay can no longer escape because of the Ghana Card they used to register on their accounts."
Mr. Amoung-Yam expressed worry that some individuals previously disposed of SIM cards used for loans to avoid repayment, warning that registering another SIM card would lead to detection due to details in the service system. He encouraged timely repayment so others could benefit and reiterated that customer satisfaction drove the company's operations, leading to heavy investment in services. Mr. Amoung-Yam also urged customers to report service problems and noted that even farmers in forests can now make calls and send messages, indicating signal coverage across Ghana. He mentioned several apps available to prevent long queues at MTN offices.
