Mahama pledges to uphold Atta Mills' legacy of integrity and service

President John Dramani Mahama reaffirmed his commitment to leading Ghana with integrity, compassion, and respect for democratic institutions at a wreath-laying ceremony at Asomdwee Park in Accra to mark the 14th anniversary of President Mills' passing. He stated, "As I reflect on the responsibilities that the people of Ghana have entrusted on me today, I often recall his quiet wisdom and steady temperament. These values continue to remind me that every decision that I take must ultimately serve the people of Ghana and strengthen the democratic institutions that would outlive us all."

President Mahama noted that Professor Mills' leadership, characterized by humility, integrity, and commitment to national unity, remains a source of inspiration. He stressed that the most meaningful way to honor Professor Mills' memory is by living out the principles he championed, including integrity in public service, respect for democratic institutions, tolerance of differing opinions, compassion for the vulnerable, and inclusive national development. President Mahama acknowledged that the late President's vision of a peaceful, just, and prosperous Ghana remains unfinished, pledging to continue building on that legacy.
