Leicester City confirm Abdul Fatawu Issahaku move to Ipswich Town

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is set to join Ipswich Town after Leicester City and Ipswich Town reached an agreement over his transfer, subject to league and international clearance. Leicester City confirmed an agreement was reached for his sale for an undisclosed fee, subject to league and international approval. The 22-year-old winger brings an end to a successful three-year spell at the King Power Stadium, having first arrived on loan from Sporting CP ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

His impressive performances earned him a permanent move the following summer after helping Leicester secure the Sky Bet Championship title. During his time with the Foxes, Issahaku made 100 appearances in all competitions and scored 16 goals. Leicester City thanked the Ghanaian for his contribution, stating, "We would like to thank Abdul for his efforts over the last three seasons as he departs with the very best wishes of everyone at Leicester City." Issahaku is expected to play an important role as Ipswich Town prepares for the 2026/27 Premier League campaign. He represented Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Ghana progressed to the Round of 32 before a 1-0 defeat to Colombia.
