Lamashegu residents urge NDC to address Tamale water crisis
Idrissu Mohammed, the Paramount Chief of the Tamale Divisional Area, appealed to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to prioritise the water challenges affecting Tamale and surrounding communities. He spoke during the thank-you tour of Johnson Asiedu Nketia, NDC National Chairman, in Lamashegu. He described Lamashegu as "one of the strongest support bases of the party."
The chief stated that Lamashegu has been the "Ketu South of the NDC and the Manhyia of the NDC from 1992 up to date." He noted that residents continue to face major challenges, particularly access to water in Tamale. He appealed to Mr. Asiedu Nketia to relay their concerns to government and cabinet.
The Paramount Chief said that urgent action is needed to resolve the water crisis before the NDC completes its first term in office. He stressed that "Something must be done before the NDC ends its first term in office."
