Lack of strategic plan caused NPP's 2024 defeat in Ahafo - Baba Gausu
Mohammed Baba Gausu, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate for Ahafo Regional Secretary, attributed the party's defeat in the 2024 general elections in the Ahafo region to the absence of a clear and effective strategic plan. He stated, "There was absolutely no strategic plan from the leaders of the party in the region for the 2024 general elections, and that contributed to the unprecedented and humiliating defeat we suffered." He believes the NPP can reclaim political dominance in the Ahafo Region and defeat the National Democratic Congress (NDC) if the right strategies are adopted.
Gausu said he would prioritize strategic planning, grassroots mobilization, and effective coordination if elected as Regional Secretary. He appealed to delegates to support candidates with experience and vision for the 2028 general elections. Meanwhile, another NPP aspirant, Otchere Kwadwo Emmanuel, contesting for Regional Nasara Organiser, expressed concern about the party's declining appeal in Zongo communities across the region, attributing it to the failure of previous occupants of the Nasara Organiser position to effectively engage and mobilize these communities.
