Highlife musician K.K. Fosu has put the Akuapem North parliamentary contest back on his political radar, declaring that he intends to stand as an independent candidate in the 2028 general election and challenge incumbent MP Sammy Awuku.

The musician, who has spoken publicly about his parliamentary ambitions since 2023, says he is not withdrawing from the constituency's political conversation. This time, he insists he will not be held back by party structures, political names, or the weight of the New Patriotic Party in the area.

"If Sammy Awuku likes, he should leave the NPP and come to meet me face-to-face. I am going as independent candidate," K.K. Fosu said.
