Kantanka funeral standoff requires urgent security attention - Adib Sani

Adib Sani, a security analyst, called for heightened security measures over the ongoing dispute surrounding the funeral arrangements of the late Apostle Professor Kwadwo Safo, warning that the situation has become a matter of public safety. He stated, "No funeral should become a flashpoint for violence or disorder." He urged all parties to exercise restraint and place the dignity of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo and public safety above personal interests.

According to Mr. Sani, recent developments, including an earlier shooting incident, pending court proceedings, and conflicting positions, have created a volatile environment. He cautioned that the determination of both sides to pursue their respective positions could escalate tensions, particularly if supporters gather during funeral-related activities. He called on the Ghana Police Service and other relevant state institutions to conduct a comprehensive security risk assessment and maintain a strong but impartial security presence throughout all funeral-related activities. Mr. Sani also urged security agencies to closely monitor the situation and respond swiftly to any emerging threats.
