It's a propaganda spin- Miracles Aboagye dismisses EOCO's GH¢55m allegation
Dennis Miracles Aboagye, former Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD), rejected allegations of involvement in the misappropriation of GH¢55 million after his release from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO). Speaking on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen show, Mr. Aboagye stated, "The facts are there. I was told I was being investigated over GH¢2.5 million, so where from the GH¢55 million? It's a propaganda spin."
Mr. Aboagye recounted that he had travelled abroad briefly and left his vehicle at the airport, intending to return soon. He and his lawyers were unaware of any fresh invitation from EOCO before his arrest. He stated that when he returned to the airport, he was told his name was on a stop list, and there was no invitation from EOCO. Mr. Aboagye stressed he had no objection to EOCO investigating a petition or conducting an audit but questioned his treatment during detention. He saw his lawyers on Monday afternoon.
