Ignore Akofena, Apostle Safo's Funeral Not Cancelled! … Says Adwoa Safo

Sarah Adwoa Safo, former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, urged members of the Kristo Asafo Church and the general public to disregard claims by her brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, popularly known as Akofena, that the funeral of their late father, Apostle Emeritus Professor Ing. Kwadwo Safo, has been cancelled. She maintained that her brother has no legal or traditional authority to postpone or cancel the funeral, insisting that he has not been involved in organising the final funeral rites. She asked: "If he could not honour the funeral arrangements he publicly announced, on what basis does he now seek to stop one that has been carefully planned?"

Adwoa Safo disclosed that from the time of Apostle Kwadwo Safo's passing, through to the planning of the 40-day observance, Israel Kwadwo Safo neither participated in the planning process nor contributed financially or logistically to any of the arrangements. She recalled that her brother had previously announced he would organise their father's funeral on a date of his choosing but failed to fulfil that promise. Adwoa Safo stated she was by her father's bedside during his final moments and that before his death, Apostle Kwadwo Safo entrusted her with several responsibilities.
