'I used to sell on the streets, sleep at Malata' - Francis-Xavier Sosu recounts
Francis-Xavier Sosu revealed that he "used to sell on the streets and sleep at Malata" to survive and continue his education. He is the Member of Parliament for Madina.
Sosu said he relied on selling on the streets to support himself while in school, hiding from colleagues because he was ashamed of his living conditions. He dropped out of school, and a church helped him by taking him to the orphanage. He gained admission to the University of Ghana and set up classes at Dome to earn money. He had his national service at the orphanage. He wrote a book called Homeless, which he carried to several schools to sell.
Sosu stated that the money from selling the books helped him establish his law firm, FX Law and Associates. He became a personal lawyer until he had the chance to go to Parliament. He advised young people not to rely solely on government jobs but to explore entrepreneurship.
