"He could have easily killed her" - Father recounts daughter's alleged ordeal with Obuasi SHTS headmaster [Audio]
John Kwaku Bobena, father of an Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHTS) student, called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Vice President, and President John Dramani Mahama to ensure justice is served following allegations of misconduct involving the school's headteacher, Abdulai Zakaria. Speaking on Adom FM's Dwaso Nsem, Mr. Bobena stated he was not surprised by reports that the headteacher had allegedly been involved in an incident involving the burial of a baby, adding that his daughter's experience had already raised serious concerns for him. He alleged, "He could have easily killed her."
Mr. Bobena said the incident had left him deeply hurt and caused him emotional pain. He urged the IGP to listen to such incidents and ensure justice in Ghana, stating it is not only his daughter who may have gone through this. He appealed to authorities to protect the girl child in schools and also urged Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, as a woman and a mother, to support efforts to ensure justice for affected students. Mr. Bobena also pleaded with President Mahama to help address such issues in schools and called on the government to strengthen measures to protect students in senior high schools.
